What do I need to bring to the ACT Prep Course?

Cornerstone Academic provides all books and materials for their ACT Prep courses. All students need to bring to the course is a pencil, notebook, and a calculator that they’re comfortable with.

When should my child take an ACT Prep course?

Students should take an ACT Prep course before they take the actual ACT exam! Many parents and students come to us and panic after they see their official ACT score and then ask for help. It’s better to prepare ahead of time for the ACT exam because every score is recorded on your official score report (even though you have the option of choosing which scores to report). Additionally, planning and preparing early for the ACT ensures that you have access to scholarships and will help you on a variety of other standardized tests like the PSAT, ACT, AP exams, SAT Subject Tests or even state exams.

Who are your instructors?

Our instructors love standardized test prep. And they’re good at it. The instructors who will be teaching your course have, on average, 300 hours of SAT/ACT Prep course teaching experience and have scored in the 95th percentile or higher! They genuinely want to see you succeed and reach your goal score.

What is the average score improvement?

Since inception in 2007 and across the thousands of students who have taken our courses, the average score improvement is 4.2 points on the 36 point scale ACT exam. Many of our students regularly see 6-8 point increases as well.

Do you offer a score increase guarantee?

We don’t offer a score increase guarantee. In fact, we run away from it and you should, too. Companies that offer 100% money-back score increase guarantees need to make sure that you see an improvement. This means that they could give you a very hard ACT in the beginning and an easier “feel-good” exam at the end so you see a score improvement. We don’t do that. In fact, we randomize the order of the tests administered so that any increase you see in our course is in line with what you see on the actual ACT. This avoids test shock. What we offer is an Online Retake Guarantee: if you take our ACT Prep course and are unhappy with your score improvement, you can retake our course online at no charge.
